Welcome to the Trillium Art Shop
Art can be found anywhere, especially in our natural environment.
In our personal environment, our gardens, art can be found in the curve of a petal, the texture of a leaf, the symbolism of sculpture and in the objects that define our spaces.
The relationship between all of these elements is what makes the garden a work of art.
As a landscape designer, I often find myself behind a camera lens identifying plant material and capturing the beauty of art in the landscape, be it our natural beauty or a designed landscape.
What I love about gardens and the natural landscape is that they are forever changing, never static. My photography reflects the beauty of the changing seasons.
Here in Ontario, Canada, the Trillium is our native provincial flower. It is one of the first wildflowers to grow and bloom after the snows of our Canadian winters have melted away.
This woodland flower literally means ‘three-parted lily’ with three beautiful white petals above a whorl of three leaf-like bracts. To me, it holds the promise of spring, rebirth and hope.
The Trilliums are one of my favourite flowers, so much so, I have used the name in both my virtual and photography businesses. My other business, Trillium Art, uses nature-inspired photography of flowers, birds and critters and creates greeting cards, calendars, and gift tags.
